Clara. Newborn.
Cutie pie!
Santa is coming sooooooon! Oh giggles.
Adorable family travelled all the way from Minnesota for these pretty pictures. (And to visit family too, but how about these pictures?! Hehehe)
Here are a few fun facts about Clara…
Tell us about that first moment when you saw your baby.
Mom: Immediate, overwhelming and all-encompassing LOVE!!
Dad: We waited to find out the gender of our baby. Before she was born I wasn’t sure if I wanted a boy or girl. When Clara was born I knew the moment couldn’t have been any more perfect. I had no idea one person could feel so much love, it just overwhelmed me.
Is there a story behind your baby’s name?
A friend of Erica’s mentioned the name in passing and when Erica mentioned it to Tyler we were both in love. As an added bonus, there is a famous composer named Clara Schumann, and with Erica being a music teacher, it was a happy coincidence!

Give us the scoop. What has surprised you the most about parenthood? Are there any funny stories or firsts that you’d like to share?
Mom: I really wasn’t sure that I would instinctively know what she would need when she cried, but it hasn’t been that hard! I think the biggest challenge has just been getting used to all the things that are now our ‘new normal’. As for funny stories, when Clara was just a couple weeks old, I was changing her diaper and she sneezed…let’s just say she got some pretty good distance!
Dad: I think what has surprised me the most is how nothing seems to compare to when you see your child smile. I don’t know why but all the funny stories I can think of seem to revolve around my daughter pooping on my wife! I remember coming back from picking up some takeout to see my wife standing in the kitchen with no pants! She had this look of panic on her face and immediately she says, “There is poop on the couch!” I immediately go to clean it up. It seems that every time I left the house, my daughter blew out a diaper on my wife. She immediately went to take care of our daughter, but didn’t want to track poo that was on her pants all over the house so she dropped trow.

What age/month has been your favorite and why?
Mom: Every passing month comes with so many great ‘firsts’ and even more excitement, so I can only say my favorite time is now. I love to watch her learn new things and smile when she figures out something new.

Dad: I would agree with my wife. Every new experience becomes my favorite.
One word to describe your baby is…
Mom: BUSY! It’s incredible to watch her mind go in so many different directions. She’s curious about everything and learning something new every minute!
Dad: Precious! She is the most precious thing in my life.
What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
We haven’t gotten any professional pictures taken until now because we knew we wouldn’t be as happy with them. Since we live in Minnesota we had to wait until we visited family in Ohio before we could schedule a session with Crystal Jo. We love our sessions with Crystal Jo because she has an incredible ability to capture the true joy and pure love of families.
