Slobber and all, Max is a REAL HAM!
Baby model, right here!
Here are some fun facts about this duo…
What is your favorite memory during your boy’s first year of life?
Ashley- Our favorite memory of the boys is the first time we saw them being born! It was a feeling that is so indescribable!
Jeff- I remember when both kids were in their swing and Ashley walked by and I saw both of their heads follow her from one side of the room to the other. That, and the first time I heard them belly laugh which automatically makes me laugh.
Do you have a funny story or something that happened in their first year that you’d like to share?
Ashley- We have tons of funny hospital stories! I couldn’t move from my hospital bed and Jaxon projectile vomited; which being first time parents had no idea what to do, so Jeff pushed the emergency button and about 6 nurses came rushing in our room for nothing.
Jeff- I have to agree with this one since it was pretty comical.
What age/month has been your favorite and why?
Ashley and Jeff – 11-12 months has been our favorite! They are developing their own personalities and becoming amazing little people! They make us laugh all the time and it’s a great feeling when you know they know who their mommy & daddy are! It’s fun to see them pick up something new on an almost daily basis.
One word to describe your babies…
Awesome.
What is your child’s favorites…(please give for each child)
Animal: Not sure yet, but I would say dogs since we have 2.

So SO SO precious!
Here are a few fun facts about these beautiful babies…
Tell us about that first moment when you saw your baby.
Mom- I didn’t have an easy delivery. The babies were born at midnight on Saturday and I wasn’t able to go see them until Monday night. About 70 hours later Robbie wheeled me down to the NICU and I was able to hold them both and feed them their bottles. It was hard to have visitors come and see me and then go see the babies when I wasn’t able to see them myself. Robbie was great about spending time with all three of us and taking lots of pictures to share with me.
Dad- I teared up and thought They looked like their big sister Meg. I walked to the NICU when they took Miles and then Maddyn came a few minutes later.
What were your babies birth weight and length?
Maddyn 4.6 pounds and 18.11
Miles 5 pounds and 17.9
Is there a story behind your baby’s name?
Robbie chose Miles and I chose Maddyn. Robert is a family name. His father and grandfather both are Robert. Lillian was my grandmother’s name.
Give us the scoop. What has surprised you the most about parenthood? Are there any funny stories or firsts that you’d like to share?
We are most surprised about how quickly they grow! Robbie is a morning person and I am a night owl. This helps with the feeding schedule. We are also surprised at how tired we are each day. The babies have their own way of communicating. One will do something and the other will laugh from across the room. Whenever they are somewhat close to each other they gravitate towards each other to cuddle.
Early one Sunday morning around 3 am Miles started to hiccup. Maddyn then began to hiccup. They went back and forth and would occasionally go out of order. When this happened one would hiccup twice. At the time we thought this was hilarious. (Remember, sleep deprived!)
What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?

and those curls. LOVE!Here are a few fun facts about this awesome family…
Tell us a little about your family dynamic. How you met your husband, how long you’ve been married, names and ages of the children.
Jay and Summer: This year we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary. Our daughter, Vivianne, is almost 3 years old. Our awesome friendship and marriage was all started via a phone call and a pair of Billy Bob teeth! We met right after Summer took the bar exam. Summer’s housemate was Jay’s cousin. One day, Jay called and asked for him, but he wasn’t there. Summer might have been a little perturbed with the call because Jay’s cousin was down in Florida, with his girlfriend (now wife) and Summer had been receiving dozens of calls all day for him from AT&T to get him to switch the long-distance phone service. Jay and I talked for hours. And, every night for the rest of the week, we talked for hours. We (finally) agreed to go out on Sunday, which happened to be April Fool’s Day. On the phone the night before, Jay says, “you sound like you have nice teeth.” I thought it was strange. The next day he shows up at my door for our date with Billy Bob teeth. I almost shut the door in his face! That was almost 18 years ago. Jay’s sense of humor is one of the things I love most about him.
Do you have any hidden talents or something unique to you?
Summer: I am the baker and the crafty one in the house.
Jay: I’m the cooker, the fixer and I completely married up a few levels.
Vivianne: Vivi loves to sing, and she really likes to get out her toy microphone and tow broom and sing/act out “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from Annie.
If you could be any person for one day, who would it be?
Summer: one of the cooks from America’s Test Kitchen so I could learn all of the recipes and techniques.
Jay: I’d like to be Bill Gates, so I could roll around in my zillions of dollars. I’m sure he has a room for that at one of his mansions, right?
VIvianne: Elsa from Frozen
What’s one thing you want to learn to do?
Summer: the cool handwriting lettering that’s so trendy now!
Jay: I would love to learn how to fly. I did ground school years ago, but not the flying part.
Vivianne: Learn to read!
If you had a $100 bill in your back pocket to spend on whatever you’d like, you’d buy…
Summer: a massage; but probably something for Vivi
Jay: Something for one of my two favorite women, Summer and Viv.
Vivianne: Elsa and Anna dolls and legos to build a castle
Describe the perfect weekend.
Summer: one without laundry or cleaning so we can all spend time together.
Jay: Super tan, on a beach, on a weekend that never ends!
Vivianne: going to Disney World go see Mickey and Minnie
Are you more like your mom or your dad? (parents even answer this one!)
Summer: Both.
Jay: Both. I’m handy like my dad and as free-spirited as my mom.
Vivianne: Both, especially the smartalec part!
What did your family like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
Crystal Jo was there when our daughter was born and gave us amazing, special pictures of Vivianne’s birth and then the next year of milestones. She is so patient and fun. I love the locations she picks and her ability to capture more nature photos. We love working with Crystal Jo!

The gorgeous woman right here needs a HUGE shout out! This is Andrea, the AMAZING right hand to my business. She runs all of the back end stuff that not everyone has a chance to see. Invoicing, scheduling sessions, TONS of correspondence, taxes, photo uploads, editing, designing…you know…the boring desk work stuff when I’m out having fun holding babies and making families smile big. We WITHOUT A DOUBT work as a team and I couldn’t run my business without her. She’s worked nearly every day this month (with the exception of Thanksgiving week) helping with this busy holiday season and the madness it brings. I’m extremely blessed and grateful to have this beautiful soul in my life. Next time you email or are in the studio, give her a BIG HELLO! We appreciate you, Andrea!
