Tell us a little about your family dynamic.
We are a fun, crazy, God loving family! We do a lot of family activities that keep us supporting and cheering for one another. We all have our own uniqueness and individual personalities and that comes through during our family nights. We laugh, joke, disagree.(like any other family) but in the end, we always come back to our basis of support, fun, and forgiveness.
How you met your spouse-
Andrea- I was training at Davon’s office for a week. The bank was locked and Davon was the one that answered the door. I spoke and said, “Hello,” He didn’t speak or acknowledge me, he just stared. I thought he was quite rude and wasn’t going to be bothered with him. The trainer I had spit a lot when she spoke and I needed help with processing a new transaction. I had to make a decision- get spit on or suck up my pride and ask him for help, CLEARLY, I asked him for help! We developed a friendship and eventually a profound relationship, and the rest is HISTORY!!!!

How long have you been married? How did you meet?
We’ve been married for 8 years, and we dated for 9 and now we have Charlotte Camille and she is two. We met in middle school.
What is your favorite memory during your child’s second year of life? Do you have a funny story or something that happened recently that you’d like to share?
She learned to walk at 15 months. That was an exciting moment. Charlotte loves to dance. Her favorite music seems to be rap/hip hop. It’s pretty entertaining to watch her move.
What age/month has been your favorite and why?
Her first year was fun because it was full of growth and change. Her age now is a little more challenging! She’s very busy and a little ornery. We’re appreciating each phase as it comes.

Breastfeeding has completely thrown me! Had no idea how much and how often babies need to eat. Everything other parents tell you before having a child (get your sleep now, enjoy every moment, they grow up so fast, etc etc etc) all became very true. What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
The session was fun and relaxed. Crystal Jo is a natural.

Some fun facts about this adorable family…
How long have you been married?
Tommy and I met in College at Otterbein and have been married for 4 years. We had Cohen and he will be 2 in November!
What is your favorite memory during your child’s second year of life?
Cohen’s 2nd year of life has been awesome! He has grown leaps and bounds as far as physically and verbally.
Mom’s favorite moment: The first time he gave me a kiss without me prompting him. He was taking a bath and was having a blast. He stood up, grabbed my face with both hands, and gave me a big kiss on each cheek. I’ll forever cherish that moment.
Dad’s favorite moments: Cohen enjoys playing outside, but has so much fun when he gets to help Dad with yard work. His favorite thing is to help blow the leaves and grass off the driveway and sidewalk.
What age/month has been your favorite and why? From age 1 to current has been amazing for both Tommy and I as parents. He has developed such a personality and is a blessing to be around daily. He has learned to walk, talk, and is starting to find interest in playing with toy cars and coloring (on both paper and carpet).

Beth and Anthony. Engaged. (And Jade is quite excited! Doesn’t she look like she’s smiling?!)
Let me just tell you guys in advance..
THESE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS ARE AMAZING! F’REAL. Beth and Anthony chose their family farm for this session. And let me just show you how much it rocked my socks…
Uh, the right photo, the way Anthony is holding his girl. The body language here. Swoon!
BODY LANGUAGE. Bam..
An outfit change and into the barn we went. This is the oldest barn the family owns. It’s literally falling down but it has SO much character and history. It’s Beth’s favorite and she’s fighting for the old barn to stay. Her Mom, who graciously helped us the evening of the photo session, said, “we could put a new floor in the barn and you could get married here, Beth.” YES! Nah, we’ll just save it for these really cool photos…
So, on September 3, 2016, after ten years of being soulmates, they will say “I do” by Waters Edge.
I adore you both and I couldn’t be more excited to share your day. XO, friends!
This long dirt road will take us many beautiful places, my dear.
Some fun facts about this adorable couple…
When and where is your wedding?
We are getting married on September 3, 2016 at Water’s Edge in Hilliard, Ohio.
How did you meet?
Anthony- High School
Beth- We both grew up in rural Madison County and both went to Madison Plains. I had known Anthony through school and showing animals at the fair since I was young. It wasn’t until the end of his senior year and that summer that we started hanging out. That fall, the beginning of my junior year of high school and his first year at Ohio State, we started officially dating. The rest is history!
Tell us about your proposal!
Anthony- I took her out to dinner for our 8 year anniversary. We went to the same place that we did for our first Valentine’s Day. Beth had mentioned before that she wanted a picture of the moment, so I arranged to have the waiter nearby with a camera. Once I got down on one knee, I completely forgot what I had planned to say because I was so nervous. I could only think to tell her I love her and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I asked her to marry me and she of course said “Yes.”
Beth- We had planned a nice night out to celebrate our 8 year anniversary. Anthony took me to Mitchel’s Steak House downtown, where we had out first valentine’s day date. We ordered dinner and I was actually worried that he was sick because he drank 2 or 3 glasses of water before our food even came out, which is not like him. I was genuinely worried about him. I went to the restroom and when I came back I saw our food had arrived. I sat down and Anthony got up, walked around the table, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He also set up the server to take a picture of him proposing. I treasure that picture! I had mentioned to him a long time before this that I would love to have a picture of him proposing. He remembered that and made it happen! I couldn’t have asked for a better night!
What’s your favorite thing about your significant other?
Anthony- Beth is very loving and dedicated. She’s an amazing daughter and a great aunt to her niece and nephew. She’s a perfect mix of beauty and brains, yet humble, and treats everyone with respect. But what impresses me the most is her determination. A lot is asked of her, and even more is asked of herself. She knows what she wants to achieve in life. No matter the lack of time or pure exhaustion, she finds a way to continue on.
Beth- I honestly love everything about Anthony. If I had a choose one favorite thing, it would be his caring heart. Anthony is always willing to help anyone in need. He is always looking for ways to make me smile and I don’t think I tell him enough how much I appreciate that. I couldn’t ask for a more wonderful man to spend the rest of my life with. And not to mention, he’s pretty handsome! 🙂
What makes you guys unique?
Anthony- While many couples rushed to be married and have kids, we stayed focused on our plan.
Beth- Anthony and I have truly been through it all from high school, to college, to building a career, to getting back into shape (this was probably the hardest, yet most fun part), and now planning our dream wedding. As a couple, we are so resillient. I know that we will be able to handle anything that is sent our way.
How did you find Crystal Jo?
Anthony- Crossfit 43123
Beth- Anthony and I started doing Crossfit about 6 months ago. We met Crystal and she was always so nice at the workouts, when we were struggling. When I found out she was a photographer I asked for some information from her. After looking at her work we knew we wanted her to capture the most important day of our lives!

What is your favorite memory during your child’s first year of life?
Margaux: bringing him home from the hospital. Our life forever changed.
Adam: mine was when Joellen Ray came over to meet Cole and he was belly laughing so hard at her saying “peek-a-boo.” It was the first real laugh and I’ll never forget it.
Do you have a funny story or something that happened in his first year that you’d like to share?
Not sure what this says about us but Cole crawled for the first time for mom’s glass of wine and walked for dad’s beer. Proud.
What age/month has been your favorite and why?
Now is our favorite. His personality is coming out in full force and we are in trouble 🙂

Anabelle. Newborn.
Buckeye Baby!
She’s just as happy as can be!
Hi, fresh baby girl!
Tell us about that first moment when you saw your baby.
I just remember how exhausted and uncomfortable I was during the delivery, but once the doctor said to look at our baby, A sudden overwhelming calm and love came over me and I haven’t stopped smiling since. For my husband, I looked up and saw tears in his eyes and a huge grin. He said he never felt so proud.
What was your baby’s birth weight and length?
Anabelle weighed in at a whopping 6lbs 6oz and 18inches long .
Is there a story behind your baby’s name?
There is not really a story behind her name other than Jimmy & I both really liked it.. & after about an hour or two of going through names… We probably got a little A.D.D. and couldn’t make it past the A’s. We picked one of the top five that we had at the time and alas Anabelle was our little girls name!Give us the scoop. What has surprised you the most about parenthood? Are there any funny stories or firsts that you’d like to share?
I think what has surprised us the most is that while we are first time parents and had absolutely no idea what to do once we brought our daughter home, somehow we just managed to figure things out and everything has worked out okay. I am also surprised how great you can feel on two hours of solid sleep!
What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
What was not to love! From the moment we walked, Crystal Jo made us feel right at home. It was such a calm and laid back experience. As a new parent, I was put at ease as Crystal Jo soothed and calmed our little girl between pictures. She made everything so quick and easy for us even allowing time for diaper changes and feedings. We look forward to having Crystal Jo capture how our little girl grows throughout the next year!
The Powell Fam.
