We all want our families to look nice for Christmas portraits, but sometimes it’s hard figuring out what to wear. Here are a few of our favorite holiday portrait looks, all from Target.com.
You might find these festive red, gray, and beige pieces on a family gathered by their Christmas tree.
I love the idea of wearing blue! Imagine a family standing on their decorated porch or alongside their beautiful staircase in these attractive fashions. These pjs would be cuddly and cute with a family in bed having pillow fights and peeking over the sheets.Picture a family in front a warm fireplace in these “Blue Spruce” looks that are dressy without being fussy.
You can be sure that everyone looks great without spending a fortune, and it’s not too late to schedule your “Home for the Holidays” portrait session. Email crystal@crystaljofoto.com to reserve your date.

Some fun facts about this cute couple…
When and where is your wedding?
We are getting married July 27, 2013 at St. Brendan’s in Hilliard, and our reception will be held downtown at The Vault. We loved the uniqueness of the space, and of course, the bar located in the old bank vault.
How did you meet?
Bryan and I met when he was in law school and I was finishing my first Master’s degree. One of my close friends from college went to law school with him at Capital. We were friends for about a year before we “clicked”.
Tell us about your proposal.
Bryan knows I loooove fireworks (and all things that are sparkly!), so when he asked me if I wanted to go to Riverfest on Labor Day weekend, I was super excited. It’s Cincinnati’s version of Red, White and Boom, but the fireworks are set off over the Ohio River. The remnants of Hurricane Isaac were blowing through town that day and Bryan was so wound up about the fireworks potentially being cancelled. Somehow that didn’t clue me in at all that he had something special up his sleeve. When it was time for the show to start, we were able to work our way down to the front row of the Serpentine Wall because it wasn’t super crowded like most years. The show started, and about ten minutes in Bryan tapped me on my shoulder and when I turned around he had the ring box open and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t tell you one more thing about the firework show that night.
What’s your favorite thing about your significant other?
Hannah- My favorite thing about Bryan is his sense of humor. Even when I’m mad at him he has the ability to make me laugh at him. I’ve had some difficult things happen in my personal life the past year and he has been beside me every second offering me support and cheering me up.
Bryan- The way Hannah has the ability to help me believe in myself and have confidence in myself when I begin to waver and lose those things.
What makes you guys unique?
Let’s just say that conversation where we clicked was about “pig wrestling” aka a pig scramble I took part in during high school at my county fair, and a Chevy Silverado. We are super goofy and obscure. If someone was listening in on our conversations they would have no idea what we were talking about. That may or may not make us a unique couple, but the way we relate to each other versus the outside world is unique =)
How did you find Crystal Jo?
A friend of a friend used Crystal Jo for her wedding and the pictures were so fun and fabulous! I loved how the colors and details popped in all of the pictures I saw on her website and blog. (Thanks Ellen and Margaux!)
Ox. 3 Months Big.
He’s really James the III, but his adorable nickname is Ox. Ox means the third in Mayan and the Mayan civilization is where Reece (the Mommy) traveled to a few years ago when she studied abroad.
His name is spelled with a hug and a kiss. That must be why he’s extra sweet. OX…oxoxoxoxoxo!Ox has my vote for president! I mean REALLY. Just look at those big brown eyes and soft curls.
Reece, James and Ox, thank you so much for making the drive from Indy for our session. You guys are beautiful people and I couldn’t wish you more happiness. OXOXOXOXOX!
