Representing Grandpa. Columbus Baby Photography

Emma.  2 Months Big.

003

You guys, just look at this!  This outfit was on a teddy bear and it fit little Emma.  Emma’s grandfather was in the military.  You’ll see his flag and helmet here.  It was so very important to dress Emma and represent her grandfather.  I love it so.

002001

John Deere baby.

Jaime, Emma’s momma and I met a few years ago at a country concert.  We’ve stayed in touch and she’s always told me I would be the one to photograph her babies.  I feel so honored, Jaime.  And thank you for making the trek down to Columbus from Cleveland.  XO, sweet lady!

Fun facts about this little gem…

Emma Donielle Sharer was born June 3rd @ 8:19 am. She was 8 lbs and 20 inches long.

Is there a story behind your baby’s name?
Her middle name, Donielle,  is after my dad Donald. He passed in September 2013 and we found out we were pregnant the day after his funeral.

Tell us about that first moment when you saw your baby.
Being she was born via c – section,  we didn’t get to see her immediately,  but we heard her cries. It was very surreal but brought instant tears to both myself and Russ. Russ was able to go to other side of the room and see her and came back to my head, still teary eyed and said how beautiful she was.. Lol though did mention her cone head from being stuck. She was coming down crooked. The nurses brought her over for him to hold by my head while they finished surgery on me. Just kept kissing her cheek, that was next to me. Once I was able to hold her in the recovery room, I haven’t wanted to put her down, and she is 2 months old. 🙂

Give us the scoop. What has surprised you the most about parenthood?
She has definitely made us both better people. She has brought so much happiness to both families. She has helped with the healing process of losing my dad.

Are there any funny stories or firsts that you’d like to share?
Emma has brought excitement too. Never would have thought we would love someone so much!  We have a lot of fun watching her learn how to use her hands and legs… The first time she smiled on purpose at us was heart melting. Then when she started cooing, we couldn’t wait until she did it again. It is funny the silly things we do to get her to smile and coo. She loves exchanging “words” with her daddy.

What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
The best part of our experience with Crystal Jo is the positive energy that Crystal Jo gives off. You cannot help but smile! Also, the patience with Emma and ability to get her attention and to smile. Plus, she didnt judge me for putting a US Marine Corp’s teddy bear outfit on my baby.  😉

Cute family alert! I took Margaux and Adam’s wedding photos a few years ago. And really tons of photos since including their friends and even her family’s business events. I love them all so very much and it doesn’t ever feel like work, a client or a business relationship, but always a friendship. XO, you ALL!

Tell us about that first moment when you saw your baby.
It’s difficult to put into words how incredible it was to see our son for the first time. After waiting for so long just to find out boy or girl, we were overwhelmed by emotions to find out we now have a baby boy. He looked so peaceful, innocent, beautiful and it was hard to believe he was ours. We are truly blessed.
What was your baby’s birth weight and length?
Cole was 6 lbs, 5 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches.
Is there a story behind your baby’s name?
Well, we had our girls name picked out almost immediately after we found out we were pregnant. As for the boys name, we were clueless. I had always loved the name Cole but Adam hated it so for months Adam would toss a new name at me and I would crinkle my nose and say, “uh no”. Adam would drive by places and call me and say, “what about Chase” and I would say, “I like that name, how did you come up with that one?” and he would reply, “I just drove by Chase bank” which of course meant I couldn’t possibly name our son Chase. We did that back and forth for months and after he was born, we still weren’t sure on the name. He was rooting for Grant and I was rooting for Hunter. Both of us didn’t budge until I mentioned Cole again in the hopes that he changed his mind, sure enough Adam agreed. Now the middle name, don’t get me started on that one…
Give us the scoop. What has surprised you the most about parenthood?  Are there any funny stories or firsts that you’d like to share?
What surprised us most about parenthood? That’s a tricky one…I would say overall it’s just hard to believe he is ours sometimes. I look at him and think, how did we get so lucky?? He surprises us everyday, whether it’s keeping us up at all hours during the night, peeing on us when we are changing his diaper at 3:00 am, his giant smiles he gets when he’s dreaming, or his goose noises he makes out of no where that always make us laugh. I would say parenthood is something you are never truly prepared for or something you can’t truly understand until you’re experiencing it first hand. It’s pretty incredible.
What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
Crystal Jo has been part of our family now for a while and when it comes to someone taking pictures of the most important moments in our lives, it’s a no brainer, it has to be Crystal Jo. She is just an amazing person as well as an amazing photographer. She captures the moments so perfectly. I recommend her to everyone 🙂

A Jewish wedding ceremony usually takes place under a beautiful huppa which is a large fabric canopy, supported by four poles.  The huppa represents the home that the bride and groom will build as a family.

According to tradition, a bride and groom must agree to a contract in order for their Jewish marriage to be binding.  This contract is called a ketubah and is a beautiful piece of art.  Here you see Jon presenting the ketubah to his bride.  And of course she accepted.

Jenny, you are so cute.  I love your style.  And your hair.  And your smile.  And your nail polish.  Okay, everything about you!

The story of this unique ring as told by Jon:  “Basically, Jenny showed me a lot of pictures of engagement rings that she liked. She liked rose cut diamonds a lot and certain styles of rings from Diamond Law. I worked with a jeweler to find a rose cut diamond and then designed a ring based on another ring I had seen but that wasn’t quite right (had too thin of a band / too delicate looking). I planned a trip to Maine with the intention of proposing.  Since the custom-made ring wasn’t ready in time for the trip, I bought a piece of costume jewelry…. An adjustable ornate ring with a huge fake ruby. I proposed at night next to the fire place in our room at the B&B we were staying at in Maine (an old 1800’s mansion). Jenny said yes!”005

When and where is your wedding?
It’s May 30, 2015 in Canton, Ohio. The ceremony is at The Canton Woman’s Club, and the reception is at La Pizzaria.

How did you meet?
We met at Otterbein College in Calculus class. We really started hanging out when I started playing ultimate frisbee at the pick-up games on campus. And then he would come visit me at the desk while I was working in the rec center on campus.

Tell us about your proposal!
It was 3 days before my birthday, and I had just finished an evening shift in the ED, that went late, so I got home like an 1.5 hours later than anticipated. I was tired, and looked like crap in scrubs with my hair in a bun on top of my head…well I came home and started going through the mail on my desk and Gino came up behind me, I thought to hug me, and when he wrapped his arms around me he had the ring in his hands.

What’s your favorite thing about your significant other?
Gino is so funny, super supportive, and the best friend anyone could ever want. He is always there for his friends and family in any way they need.
My favorite things about Carly is her intelligence and her ability to have fun and joke around in most situations.

What makes you guys unique?
We’re super compatible. We have the same weird sense of humor, and we’ve lived together and traveled together and still want to get married.

I adore you and your brother, little guy.  XO!

Some fun facts about Henry from Momma…

Favorite Memory: Of both boys, it would have to be how sweet Ben was when he first met his baby brother – it was the same day Henry was born – Ben wanted to hold him and kept saying “I love you!” For Henry, it’s mostly just thinking about how sweet and snuggly he is while he nurses.

Funny story: One of the first times Henry stood up and walked was to chase after his brother to try to take his yogurt raisins. Nothing motivates a little brother like the urge to take something from a big brother

Age/Month: I enjoyed the tiny newborn phase more the second time around – in the first 2 weeks he would sleep on my (Mommy’s) chest which was very sweet. We also are enjoying the 12-13 month stage as he walks/toddles and babbles. He’ s very purposeful and it’s funny to see what he tries to do and imitate.

One word: Curious and happy (I know it’s two words but he’s a lot of both)

Animal: our dog Daisy – he tries to play with her and gets tugged all around the room
Food: anything Ben is eating. And Yogurt
Toy: his Lovey – Froggy.
Book: DOG (it’s a book about dogs with flaps/touch and feel spots)
