Cora. One Year Big.
I’m OBSESSED with this ADORABLE 50’s themed session! OBSESSED!
She’s baking her cake.
SWOON!
A trip down memory lane….
Newborn.
3 Months.
6 Months.
9 Months.
Here are a few fun facts about this little beauty…
Do you have a funny story or something that happened in her first year that you’d like to share?
2nd kid syndrome for sure! Poor Cora has hand me downs galore and didn’t get quite the extravagant 1st birthday party that her older sister did. So we tried to make up for it with having 3 seperate little parties with each of our families. She got to have 3 smash cakes!
What age/month has been your favorite and why?
My favorite months are those after 9 months! By then her personality really starts to come out. She babbles and walks and becomes her own person….but still needs those oh so beautiful baby snuggles. With Cora being our last, I will miss those most!
One word to describe your baby is…
Hungry! Hahahahhaa, girl is petite for her age. She is still wearing 6-9 month pants and 9-12 months shirts at 1 year birthday. She hung in the 2nd percentile for height and weight (until right at the end she hit 22%), but she can put more food in her belly than all of us! She loves all food too. Thankfully she isn’t picky either. Maybe one day she will win a hotdog or pizza eating contest!
What is your child’s favorites…
Animal: doesn’t have one :-/
Food: all food, every food! Not remotely interested in baby food. She has been eating the same meals as us since 6 months old!
Toy: any toy that makes noises, but her blankey follows her wherever she goes
Song or Book: “I gave my love a cherry” is her fav song. My mom sang it to me when I was littler and it’s the only song that calms her down.
How was your experience with Crystal Jo?
We can’t sing enough praises about Crystal! It is bitter sweet knowing this is our last session of the bump package. She is so amazing with the babies….engaging them and bringing out their personalities all while keeping her upbeat attitude. Even when meltdowns and chaos ensues… She captures the most magical moments and we have such amazing memories. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Miles. 1 Year Big.
This Momma has her hands full!By far…session fave!
Sofie’s best friend joined us.
Here are a few fun facts about this little guy….
What is your favorite memory during your child’s first year of life?
Taking the kids to Bulgaria to meet family they have never met before. To have our entire family together for the first time ever was priceless.
Do you have a funny story or something that happened in her first year that you’d like to share?
Miles was such a difficult baby the first 3 months of his life! He would not sleep and cried all of the time. Many times we seriously questioned having a second child but we pushed through it. We did eventually find out he had a cows milk allergy and was actually sick! That was a game changer for us. He became a completely different baby after that.
What age/month has been your favorite and why?
The 1 year mark has been the best so far with Miles. Walking, communicating, playing. He is our little guy who fits in perfectly with our family!
One word to describe your baby is…smile. We actually say around our house ‘Miles of Smiles!’
What is your child’s favorites…
Animal: Dog
Food: Any fruit!
Toy: VTech Alphabet Train
Crystal Jo is so amazing! She is perfect for our family. Patient, kind, interactive and creative. She makes the experience fun for all of us!

Here’s some fun facts about this adorable family of (soon-to-be) four…
Tell us something fun or unique about your family.
Hmmm…we are actually pretty boring people these days. My hubby works during the week and I work weekends so we don’t have to pay for childcare! (I might be a bit frugal!) My husband does the laundry, cooks, and vacuums the house when I’m working… Probably not fun, but unique for sure and I bet many of you ladies are super jealous right now!!! : ) (ME, Crystal Jo…me, I’m jealous! ha)
How did you find out you were expecting?
Ironically a friend at work he just announced her pregnancy, & I was a little sad I wasn’t pregnant yet as my husband and I had been trying for a few weeks. As I was leaving work that day, another co-worker had mentioned I was a little fiestier than usual so I took a test that day and sure enough… indeed I was also pregnant!!!
What’s your favorite thing about being pregnant? Least favorite?
My favorite thing is definitely feeling baby kicks and hiccups. I think I will miss those sensations when I’m not pregnant.
My least favorite thing is attempting to find a comfortable position… it takes forever and everyone knows once you do… you always have to pee!????
Did you find out your baby’s gender?
Of course we did.. this is baby girl number two for our clan!
Is there a nursery or shower theme you’d like to share?
We were sprinkled by our friends with diaper party which was tons of fun! The theme was “brewing a baby” . I like to live vicariously through my friends when I can’t drink!
How did Anabelle adjust with the pregnancy?
Anabelle knows baby sister is in “mom’s belly”. She gives my belly kisses and pats my belly. She also enjoys playing with her old toys in baby sister’s room. But otherwise our day is playtime as usual, maybe a little slower and mom doesn’t jump quite as much.
A baby is coming! What are you looking forward to the most?
We are very much looking forward to baby cuddles and snuggles again. But, Jimmy and I are so excited for when the baby becomes more interactive and is able to play and learn from Anabelle! I can’t wait for them to grow into best friends! We are so excited to meet this little one and feel that our family is finally complete!
How was your session with Crystal Jo?
Amazing as usual… just hot!!! It was much warmer than i was expecting for mid to end of september! However, We are always chomping at the bit to see what our proofs look like and can’t wait to work with Crystal Jo again. We are already planning the newborn session photos! : )

Fun Questions to answer…
(provide bride’s answer and groom’s answer….
….have fun with it!)
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Brides answer: Walking down the aisle, then shortly after, the skies opened to a heavy rainstorm that sent everyone running inside!
Groom’s answer: Before the day started, just being in an emotional embrace with Annie.
What was your favorite detail?
Brides answer: During Dan’s vows, he said he “wrote a novel”, then pulled out a roll of paper that rolled down to the floor 🙂 It was hilarious and sweet.
Groom’s answer: All of our centerpieces! I think a lot of weddings put time into them but not to the extent Annie and I did! Annie did I great job coming up with the design and working together to build them. So many guests thought we bought them. They came out so good!
Any advice for future bride/grooms?
Brides answer: Pinterest is a great tool for wedding ideas…but don’t get too swept up in it! Focus on a few things that are important to you.
Groom’s answer: We planned our wedding in ~10 months. If you plan to do anything semi-formal, I would definitely give myself that much time if not more. We were jammed-packed with planning activities every waking hour available, but we kept busy right up to the day of. That being said, do everything you can to make the day perfect for you. But in the end, it will all work out!
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Brides answer: Not a thing 🙂
Groom’s answer: Not a thing 🙂
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Hocking Hills for a “mini” moon and we are going to Australia in October!
How was your experience with Crystal Jo Foto? If you have a favorite memory with her, please share it.
Bride’s answer: Fantastic! Crystal and Tasha were so flexible and energetic. My favorite memory was Crystal reminding the groomsmen of where to pose their hands which became a mantra after a while!
Groom’s answer: Crystal Jo will tell you that I was a goof-ball the whole time we shot photos. She is really easy to work with. My favorite was her reaction to my painted toes out on the golf course.
Some behind the scenes of Crystal Jo Foto. Where all of the fun happens..
The sunlight was coming in right on the dance floor. This sweet guest came to the rescue! Thank you, sir, you definitely helped with Annie and Dan’s photos!
Tasha, you are always so hardworking. Thank you so much for all you do to make EVERY wedding day seamless and fun. You know I adore you!
Rizor. Newborn.
From the Momma about this special penny…
“I found the heads up penny as soon as I stepped out of my car to walk into the infertility clinic. That specific appointment was the start of conceiving Rizor and our first appointment after a failed IUI. From that appointment forward, I carried the penny with me every time we saw the doctor. The first ultra sound, first hearing of his heartbeat, finding out he was a boy and everything in between. Nick kept it in his pocket while I was in labor and it now hangs in Rizor’s nursery. ???????? They say heads up pennies are a “hello” from someone you love in heaven. That wasn’t a lucky penny, it was a reminder that we have a lot of people in heaven who pulled for us to get Rizor. ????
Congratulations to your new beautiful growing family. XO!
Future baseball player? I think so!
Here are a few fun facts about this little guy…
Tell us about that first moment when you saw your baby.
Seeing and meeting Rizor for the first time was the best moment of our lives. We prayed so hard for a healthy baby. When the nurse laid him on my chest, Nick was right beside me and Rizor was wide awake staring at both of us. Love at first sight.
What was your baby’s birth weight and length?
Rizor was 9 pounds and 8 ounces, 21 3/4 inches long.
Is there a story behind your baby’s name?
Rizor Michael Clark. Rizor was my (Cass’) Grandmother’s maiden name & Michael is my (Cass’) uncle’s name, Nick chose his middle name after Mike!!
Give us the scoop. What has surprised you the most about parenthood? Are there any funny stories or firsts that you’d like to share?
This has been the hardest, scariest, happiest and most rewarding two weeks of our lives. Our rainbow baby is such a blessing from God that we are thankful for each and every day. Rizor smiles all the time in his sleep, gets hangry, loves to cuddle and has a tiny temper (gets that from daddy!) He loves riding in cars and adores all of his big cousins! When we were in the recovery room, Rizor was on my chest– Nick started talking to the nurse and Rizor lifted his head to find Daddy’s voice. His nurse did a double take and said, “Wow. He is one hour old and already lifting his head.”
What did you like best about your experience with Crystal Jo?
Working with Crystal was wonderful. She took her time with us and Rizor and made our newborn session relaxing and enjoyable. We couldn’t think of a better person to capture such a special time in our lives.
