Little Sleeping Prince. Columbus Family Photography

The James Family.  Beautiful.

Luke.  Four Months Big.

He was pretty funny during our session.  We laid him on this basket by the river for some photos with a “country feel”.  He passed out.  Dead asleep.  It was hilarious.  Mommy fed him and he woke up with huge smiles and laughs.   Then we headed to old Pickerington for some city photos.  He passed out.  Dead asleep.  And this time there was NO waking him up.  So on with the shoot we went.  And, honestly, these are some of my favorite photos.  The little sleeping prince.

He is such a ham!

New prop. You likey? Answer: Oh, yes, very much so. Good buy Crystal Jo!

This was mommy’s fave.Sad.Happy.Chunker Munk.Aren’t they cute?!Baby steps.AHHHHHH.This was daddy’s fave.  Yes, yes, yes.  This would make a BEAUTIFUL canvas.

A ZOO-per Couple. Columbus Engagement Photography

Adam and Margaux. Engaged.

An ALL TIME FAVE! Love, love, LOVE, LOOOOOOOVE this! Did I tell you I love this? I do.

Margaux, you are SO beautiful!  SO BEAUTIFUL!

This is HOT….so hot, she’s on ICE.

I love this next sequence of photos!  Love, love.  Engagement photos on a carousel = Uh-mazing!

I love her expression here!

This girl has talent. Hold hands, kiss, balance, kiss, climb, kiss. All on some galloping horses. Amazing.

These two are characters, to say the least!  This was all their idea.  “Let’s act like pink flamingos.”  Aren’t they so fun?!

Dude, I wanna cuddle with myself.

Margaux loves it when Adam kisses her on the forehead.  Okay, seriously.  You can’t get any cuter!

Hello, long eyelashes. I want you.
One of my faves from the session.  Just lovely.
Again with the funny ideas.  Margaux, ” Let’s chest bump.”  Okay!

A little behind the scenes…

Pixie Jo’s first zoo visit. She LOVED it!

Iceberg, right ahead! How many people does it take to find the polar bears?! Ashley from That Gym on Grandview is training the soon-to-be’s for their wedding. If I do say so myself, she’s the best trainer EVER.

Jason and Craig. Having way too much fun on the carousel.  Ha, Craig looks like a scared little boy.  Mommy, help.

Pixie Pie was making silly faces at Margaux and Adam. She HAS to be the reason they are soooo happy in all of these pictures. 🙂

Adam and Margaux, we had SO much fun with you! I’m very much looking forward to your BIG day in September. Much love!

Polka dot baby suit. Columbus Baby Photography

Delaney. Six Months Big.

She learned how to sit up all by herself.  Two days before the session.  Mommy and Daddy were SO proud.

It’s warm enough to swim. Oh, yes! Thank you, mother nature. Little girls in bathing suits are SO stinkin’ cute. Babies in swimsuits…even cuter!

Laney Love. Love Laney!  Look at those rolls.  Makes me smile.  Really big.

These crack me up. See her named spelled down her little body.  This was quite a feat.  She was such a wiggle worm!   And that foam “L” in her mouth, she was biting that thing with all of her might.   Love it.

Laney the little monster.  Cutest monster on the block.

I heart these SO much!  Her momma wore this dress when she was just a weee baby.  How special.

Adorable family. Love them!

Guess who came to say Happy 6 months to little Delaney….Pixie Pie!  Delaney was delighted. Pixie was ready to play. It’s hard to believe Delaney is only a few weeks older than Pix. Pix seems so much bigger. It was really neat to see them interact. And they are BOTH sitting up like big girls!

Do you like your job?

Wedgewood Middle School Career Day.

One of my gymnasts asked me to come speak at her middle school for career day. What? Chat about photography for a few hours? Absolutely!

A police officer, a librarian, a nurse, a dentist, a systems programmer, the special crimes unit, a teacher and many more other professions were present. Among them, I felt honored and proud to tell these 200 children how much I love my career. I get to make memories. This isn’t just ink on paper, I am creating heirlooms that last forever.

The children rotated to different careers they were interested in hearing about. We had LOTS of fun learning about photography, composition, the difference in lenses, the best time to shoot and lots more.

Learning composition. The kids took all of these photos. How cool is that!?

We practiced with posing and shooting. I think they loved it!

Having some fun with the fisheye lens.

Thank you, Wedgewood Middle School. It was fun hanging out with your for the day!

A colorful diaper rash. Columbus Baby Photography

Eli.  One year old!

Happy 1st Birthday, Eli.  You are SO big and SOOOOOOOOO stinkin’ cute!

It has been a ton of fun photographing your first year and getting to know all of your little personalities.  I know this won’t be our last session, you little ham, you.Hello, blue eyed, birthday boy!

Cake smash!
Eli.  Saving some in his diaper for later.  This makes me giggle.

Want some, mom?
How about you, photographer?
Eli’s first birthday.  And first time on a Harley.  A GOOD day for this little guy.  And for his uncle, who was proudly watching from the porch.
Love these.

Caren (Eli’s momma) was SO proud he kept this hat on for just a millisecond.

And I LOVE the reflection of Eli’s friends in the sunglasses. (my fave for the day)

Pixie Pie was invited!  And she was so loved.  I love it when clients (who turn into friends) love her and want her to be around.  It makes me very happy.  Pulls on my heart strings.
It cracks me up when kids sit like this.  Those bones will be cracking later.  But, for now, it’s really cute.
Toys = fun!

Sometimes photos can be a little deceiving. Kids don’t always get along, do they? Look how adorable these children are. Being so nice to each other.

Grandmas. They are PRICELESS. Just like these photos.

Happy 1st Birthday Eli! I’ll miss seeing you every three months. Don’t stash too much cake in your diaper. You might just get a colorful diaper rash!

Baby Bath Time. Columbus Baby Photography

Chanden. 3 Months Big.

The three month shoot is always a toughy for me. Baby is not sitting up and they are just at that stage where they ARE smiling…but not very often. And it’s hard to capture if they aren’t in the “right” mood. At three months, babies are pretty much laying on their backs. Some can hold their heads up while laying on their bellies, but not for very long. And most of these shots just look like the baby eating the carpet. Can you tell I’ve tried this numerous times?

So I was pondering something that could be fun for a laying baby. Something to try and capture this happy time.

What is more fun than a baby in a bathtub?

He’s such a ham!
Love his expression here!  And his bubble mohawk.
Duckies.  Lots of them.

Look at those eyelashes!  He’s gonna be a ladies man.

Big boy in a whale robe.  So cute.

Chanden’s daddy wore this outfit at his christening.  I love pulling out old handmade clothing.  Especially when it has so much meaning and importance.
Now let’s head outside for some family fun!
What a cool little dude.

Happy 3 Months Chanden. A special thank you to Momma Holt for letting us use your big tub. 🙂

Making Memories on Memorial Day.

Summer is coming.  And it makes me VERY happy.    Pixie Pie lovin’ her some biker beard.  And JR.

Pixie Pie loves her Grammia.

And her Aunt Sherry.

Time to go skating!

This weekend alone, we went to seven parties, a wedding and a graduation.  Shew.  My girl is a party girl at five months old.

Grandview Hop and fabulous party at That Gym on Grandview.

Eli’s 1st Birthday Party.  Woo HOoooooo.
Hilarious.
Want some?
Chuckie (Eli’s grandpa) lovin’ on my girl.
And then, a wedding.  Kira (Jason’s cousin) said “I do” to her love, Ben.

It was really quite strange to be a guest and not the photographer.  It was extremely hard to sit still during the ceremony.  I saw all of these cool photo opportunities and shots I would take.  But, I behaved.  I kept my caboose in my chair.

We had lots and lots of fun!

My husband, the server. Serving me up.

So, okay.  The photographer in me had to come out and play.  Just a little.  Here’s Jen and her new squeeze, Eli.

The boys showing off. So handsome!

A basket of candles for The Yoders.  I got this idea from Cindi and her momma.  It was SO fun putting it together. Google it if you haven’t seen it!
The getaway.  AWESOME!

Brothers. It was a big day for Kristofer, too. High School Graduation.

Waiting for Uncle Kris to graduate!

Lovin’ from her great grandparents.I love the way people smile at my little girl!Congrats Kristofer!  We’re so proud of you!

My favorite part of our long weekend….

Going bare feet and kickin’ back. Just chillin’.

Got my I don’t care ducks in a row.  Just chillin’.

Gonna pacify my lazy bones ambition.  Just chillin’.  (Love this new country song, Blaine Larson, Chillin’)
Love her little pursed lips.  Chillin’ poolside.

Hangin’ with grandfather out at the camper.
Mitzy and Pixie in their own little chairs out at the camper.  Those spoiled girls!A happy face on your bun is SO necessary!  Be happy!Pixie Pie and Auntie Morgan.  She’s SO loved!
Just chillin’.  Beating the heat of living.

You know you have to pimp out your golf cart.  Duh.

Big milestone!  Pixie Jo is rolling over!  And she thinks it’s hilarious.  Even if I am in the middle of changing a horrendous diaper.  (No mom, I don’t normally change her on the hardwood floor.  It’s easier to clean up a blow out on the wood, rather than her changing table.)

Time for a bath.  It’s so funny to turn around and see her laying like this.  Big girl.

I hope your weekends are shared with lots of love and laughter!

Hangin’ with Brutus.

To give back.  That’s what I like to do.

There are 25.8 million Americans with diabetes.  It was my pleasure to help the American Diabetes Association beat and cure the insidious disease.  Research for a cure will not happen without fundraising.  This breakfast was held to educate and thank corporations willing to donate for the cause.  I was there to photograph it.

When I arrived at The Blackwell on Ohio State’s campus, I was welcomed by the sounds of Hang on Sloopy.  I turned around and was given a big hug from Brutus.   That much fun at 8 AM, yes, don’t mind if I do.
Yummy!
My turn, my turn!  Cell phone picture… I was starstruck.

Seven days new. Columbus Newborn Photography

Whitney Anne.

Newborn.  Very new.  Seven days new.  7 pounds, 11 ounces.

She’s one of those newborns that you just say, “now that’s a pretty newborn.”  She’s also one of those newborns that does not want to sleep for her photographer.  It took us awhile.  But when she did, it was GOLDEN.

This here is PURE magic.  And luck.  Precious luck.  I was SO proud after I snapped this photo.  I gave her momma a high five.  A smiling baby.  Held by her parents loving arms.  LOVE IT SO MUCH!Pretty girl.

Welcome to the world, Whitney Anne!

Sparks and smiles. Columbus Senior Photography

Melissa Sparks.  Cool last name, huh?!

Class of 2011.  Westfall High School.

Cousins with Michael Dickey.  I love referrals!

Melissa, or Missy, as her momma would say, is such a sweetheart!  High school seniors are SO much fun to photograph.  So easy going.  So carefree.  Melissa would do anything I asked… even cartwheels on an old semi loading dock.

I’m SO funny. Just ask Melissa. She’ll agree.

She brought her doggie, Jazmine. Jazmine posed. But only for beef jerky. She REALLY knows how to get her favorite treats!

Light Girl’s job was to be a fabulous wind stopper. She rocked it out.  Look.  Missy’s beautiful curls are perfectly placed.

My fave.  LOOOOOOVE!
Light Girl’s idea to blow the dandelion.  It was a total fail but a TOTALLY awesome reaction!
Melissa straightened her hair after it had all that fabulous curl.  Girls.

Congrats Melissa.  Enjoy your future journey!
